My cozy place
Sometimes I just need to go to my cozy place with my toys to get away from all the stress.
My boyfriend doesn't like this box because it reminds him of trips to the vet...and he HATES the vet! But I don't mind, it's fun to go traveling.

That pesky Abert's squirrel is back and he's driving me crazy! He chatters and mocks me while running around in my yard and up my trees. The audacity of that critter!

Happy Easter!
Our people enjoyed a very nice lamb dinner for Easter and they even let us watch. We love food!
We each tried begging but our mind control was lacking. Eventually we convinced the female to give us tidbits in our food bowls. But Fritz and I will have them set us at at the table next time!

Big Adventure Today!!
Wow, today was quite the day! As you know, I live in the mountains where big things eat little things like me. So I spend most of my time safe indoors (except for vicious paper bags, beware!) with my boyfriend and people. I like to go out on the upper deck a lot when it's warm (still not crazy about that white snow stuff) to view the world and watch out for that pesky Abert's squirrel (more on that later). And very rarely, I go outside with one of my humans to sniff around.
Well today was going along normally and I had enjoyed a nice nap in the sun and a good preening session. When one of my people comes to tell me that the herd of deer was back! I loves to watch deer (my tail gets all twitchy with excitement) and sometimes they loves to watch me.
My people said this deer was probably about my age, just a year old, and we may even have the same birthday (March is a good month!). So we checked each other out for a while. Then my female human wondered if I'd like to go out and meet my friend!
Well let me tell you, those deer are heck of a lot bigger than they look from behind a window!! I'm tellin' you, mule deer are HUGE! I know my cousins the mountain lions eat them but I think I'll stick to mice.
Fortunately, I am well camouflaged for stalking these beasts. I managed to scare this one off with my fierce leonine presence. Once our yard was safe, I went back inside where it's nice and warm and safe.

Take time to smell the flowers
I live a very hectic life as I'm sure many of you other cats do. After all there always things that must be investigated, mice to chase, people to bend to our will, meals to be hoovered. But us kitties really must take time to enjoy the finer things in life!
Such as these lovely pink flowers. I don't know what they're called but they sure last a long time.
Go ahead and stick your nose right in there to get all that goodness!

Happy Birthday to MEEE!
Today I turned one year old!
My people weighed me with a digital scale and I'm now 9.5 pounds. When they brought me home last June, I was only 3.4 pounds. They say that I'm bigger than my boyfriend, even though he's still heavier than me. Everyone wonders how much I'll weigh when I'm fully grown...they are guessing around 15 pounds.
As a birthday treat, my female human made us a special dinner of Spot's Stew over tasty kibbles with a topping of shrimp!! I was so excited my tail got all big and puffy. Yum, shriiimp.
